Ashanti S. Douglas was born on October of 1980 in Glen Cove, New York. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas as an
happy child, full of happiness. When she was 14, she was discovered and signed to Jive Records. She never recorded anything
for Jive and was dropped from the label. She soon would be a star but for now.......
Ashanti was about 18 when she moved to the now HOTlanta or for the slow ones, Atlanta. She was poor for awhile,
getting by, but when she went back to the NY (New York) she got a shock.
Irv Gotti was a man who almost always got what he wanted. That time it was Ashanti Douglas. He discovered
the princess and first had her in the Big Pun hit, 'How We Roll' and soon she was everywhere!
Soon she released the debut album 'Ashanti' and broke barriers for woman, but I was to interested in her voice and
her fine as heck figure...... then I was hooked..forever
